The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program teaches you how to safely use breathing gas with a higher oxygen content than regular air. Learn how to analyze your gas, plan your dives, and understand oxygen exposure and depth limits. This specialty is ideal for certified divers who want to make the most of their dive time.
What you’ll do
The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program can be completed in 1 day and does not require training dives. You will learn how to analyze the oxygen content of your cylinder and correctly record the gas mixture. The course covers oxygen exposure, maximum operating depth, no-decompression limits, and safe Nitrox dive planning. You will also learn the benefits and limitations of using Enriched Air Nitrox compared with regular air. After completing the required training, you can use Enriched Air Nitrox within the limits of your certification and training.
Before you start
- Minimum age: 10 years old
- SSI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent
- Complete the required SSI medical and administrative requirements
